Amelia grinned, “I’m assuming that was a complement, yeah? And I think you’re rather articulate. I am a year older than you, remember?” She crossed her eyes before reaching over and messing his hair up. Amelia chuckled, “And how’s that supposed to work? You write me a letter before the battle, ‘Hey Amelia. Are you showing up today? Because I’m supposed to go, so it would be ideal if you didn’t come..’” She tried to hide her fears in sarcasm.

“What does age have to do with anything? There’s not that big of a difference between fifteen and sixteen,” He said, furrowing his eyebrows. He pushed her away as she messed with his hair. “Or you could just not show up to a battle at all.” He swallowed much louder than he intended.

Amelia shrugged, “Nothing really. I was merely saying that I’m a year older and therefore, I’ve had a year longer to become articulate. But, I think you’re fairly articulate.” She rolled over in the grass, laughing and forgetting the world for a moment. His words brought her back to reality, however. She rolled her eyes, “Or you could just not show up to a battle at all.”

“You know that’s not an option,” Regulus said darkly. “The dark Lord doesn’t take no for an answer, Amelia. I’d be dead if I didn’t show up to something I was supposed to.” He looked back down at his arm. Maybe he should have gone. Maybe he still could. He rubbed it slightly, looking at the ground.

Amelia nodded, “I wish it was though. Battles are scary things.” She frowned, “No offense, Reg, but why on earth did you take that bloody thing so young? I mean, how much help can you be to him if you’re at Hogwarts all the time? And, as we’ve already established, it’s rather easy for you to be found out.” Amelia grabbed his hand, “I just don’t want you to get hurt, Reg.”

Regulus pulled his arm away, glaring at Amelia. “Most people aren’t as nosy as you.” He looked to the ground again. “I know what I’m doing, okay? Just leave it alone.” He began to tear the grass from the dirt again, his eyes fixed on what he was doing.

Amelia sighed, rolling her eyes at his expression. “Oh, calm down Reg.” She snorted, “Most people are nosier than I am, actually. And most people wouldn’t sit here and continue to talk to you once they found out you were a Death Eater. They’d run off screaming. You’re lucky it wasn’t someone else who saw your mark.” Amelia bit her lip. She wanted to argue with him, but she knew it probably wouldn’t help. “Alright. If you say so.”
