Amelia cursed her hormones; could they have picked anyone in the entire school worse for her to fancy? She bit her lip, trying to force any sort of romantic thoughts of Rita out of her mind. “Well, I guess I warned you, dear,” she replied in a falsely cheerful voice. Amelia rolled her eyes, “Why are you so determine to screw it up?” 

Rita gave her a small smile. She couldn’t get those thoughts of attraction out of her mind, so she just let them stay there. Rita tried to just ignore them, but looking at Amelia, the way she looked as the sunlight outlined her perfect figure, it was just hard. “I guess you have” she said making the smile a little wider. “I’m not determined to screw it up, it just always happens.” she said looking down.

Amelia returned Rita’s smile, still attempting to ignore her feelings of attraction towards her. There was no point, she attempted to reason with herself. Amelia smirked, “Good,” she said flirtatiously, “Now, you had better not forget it.” Amelia sighed, sitting down next to her, “Well, why don’t we not screw our friendship up?” Amelia’s arm brushed against Rita’s and she felt a slight shiver go down her spine. 

Rita pursed her lips and looked at Amelia. Why she said the word “good” so flirtatiously, she didn’t know. “Don’t worry, I won’t” she said with a smirk. Rita looked at Amelia who was now closer then ever to her. “We can try I suppose” she said smiling at her. The moment Amelia’s arm brushed up against Rita bit on her lower lip, and tried to not show herself freaking out in her head.

Amelia licked her lips and continued to, what she hoped was discreetly, check out Rita. She silently scolded herself for being so absurd, but was still unable to tear her eyes away from the Ravenclaw. Amelia grinned, “I guess that’s the best we can do, yeah?” They were sitting so close Amelia could smell Rita’s perfume, and she gladly inhaled the scent. Their knees bumped together, and Amelia felt her face flush, “Sorry,” she muttered.
